Elections, Politics, and our Citizenship


As Americans, we enjoy extraordinary freedoms, including the privilege of participating in our government

through elections. With that privilege comes the responsibility to exercise it well as we consider the

options represented on the ballot. As Christians, we add a higher calling to that process. In exercising our

vote, we also must exercise our faith. Our belief and trust in God are central to who we are and how we

live — how we engage our communities, how we engage in politics, and how we engage one another.
